Dream Big And Dream Fierce

The title of this blog is a quote from Viola Davis's acceptance speech at the SAG (Screen Actors Guild) Awards for best actress in "The Help". She'll probably be the one to win the Oscar too.

So, what does that have to do with Anahatha or this blog?

Anahatha means the Heart Chakra. And yesterday as I "happened" to catch the news on TV (which BTW I rarely do), I knew I was "meant" to be reminded of this message when Viola spoke from her heart.

Interesting how things unravel.

On being asked how she felt about where she was now in her career she replied that her career shifted from the moment she realized that she had a voice. And that she could use it. She had found in herself the power to claim her space in the movie business. And this was after experiencing her fair share of rejection, Hollywood style.

Once she made the inner shift, she said, her career started to shift as well. And voila! Viola is on a roll, isn't she?

That ... is "Personal Transformation" right there. Thank you Viola and congratulations not just for the SAG award, but for speaking from the heart and "allowing the message" of transformation.

As is within, so is without. The inner experience manifests the outer expression.

What is your inner experience of yourself? Can you get present to "How am I? And how do I feel about that?"

I remember the time I had an incredibly toxic inner dialog. You know what I am talking about. That voice that's constantly reminding you that you are not good enough, that you won't amount to anything, that you will never find true love, that you will never be as happy, as successful, as prosperous etc. etc.....the list in unending, isn't it? And I am barely getting started here...But you get the point.

That voice.

It took work. It took time. It took some practice. Actually, a lot of practice. It took me actually having to "talk back" to that inner voice and ask, "So, what's up? Why do you say these things to me? What's your problem?".

Sounds crazy? Maybe. Did it work? Yes. You bet your gluteus maximus it did.

Do you ever have that negative, self-limiting voice(or two) pop up in your head? Does that inner toxic dialog start to impede your growth, debilitate your spirit and sabotage your success? Is that fun? Do you like it? Is that what you want?

Albert Einstein said that doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.

With that said, I have a very simple question...

What do you want?

I ask my clients and students this question all the time and as simple as it is, it is not easy to answer.

What do you want?

Once you get present to "How am I? And how do I feel about that?", you then begin creating the opportunity for a journey that will help you discover what it is that you do want and how to then manifest it.

But it all begins with listening to the inner voice. And that's why I love Viola's quote, "Dream big and dream fierce."

It's great to have a dream. We all have them. But when you dream fierce you work towards finding your inner power, speaking your truth, being led to your true calling, manifesting your gifts, your talents and higher purpose in this life. That's when you not only dream but dream fierce and manifest all that you can be.

Don't let the self-limiting inner dialog sabotage you, your relationships or your success. Live your life to the fullest. In this world of image, style and branding your persona, don't miss experiencing your inner-self.

What is your inner experience of yourself?

Your inner experience manifests your outer expression.

As is within, so is without.

Interesting how things unravel.

Namaste.
