May There Be Love

These are incredible times. These are intense times. And this has been one unpredictable and fascinating week. On one hand for Valentine’s day, there were greeting cards, roses and chocolates, and we celebrated the love and relationships in our life, our special relationships. On the same day, we were faced with the devastating news of yet another school shooting, this time in Parkland, FL, claiming 17 lives.

Humanity is being summoned to rise up to an incredible revolution, an inner revolution. There are many slogans and hashtags that are used in social media marketing like #metoo, #riseup, #timesup and many, many more. It is time to go beyond slogans and hashtags and BE the change we want to see in the world.

Our generation is being called to a deep awakening. Our humanity is not being merely nudged anymore. The time for subtlety has passed, now is a time for an undeniable and terrifying awakening. How do we hold steadfast in these times and move forward, authentically, taking action for the highest good of all?

As I have been thinking on these things, a prayer rose from my spirit and this week I need to pause with you and take a moment to honor the one steadfast place I feel I can come home to and know true belonging. That place is Love.

May there be Love.

Where there is fear, may there be Love.
Where there is pain, may there be Love.
Where there is anger, may there be Love.
Where there is isolation, may there be Love.

Where there is jealousy, may there be Love.
Where there is poverty, may there be Love.
Where there is prosperity, may there be Love.
Where there is atrocity, may there be Love.

Where there is separation, may there be Love.
Where there is desperation, may there be Love.
Where there is confusion, may there be Love.
Where there is destruction, may there be Love.

Love is the one truth.
Love is the only prayer.
All there is is Love.
All we need is Love.
All we are is love.
Love is Who we are.

Love is God’s breath that breathes through you and me.
It creates, it sustains, it heals
May there be Love in all
May all be the Love they really are
May we have a heart that forgives,
And that returns to Love, over and over again.

May we be willing to receive the power of Love
To heal
To recover
To transform
To triumph
To rejoice
To be all that we can be

May there be Love.
May there be Love.
May there be Love.

In a blog I shared a few weeks ago, Love is not something we need to seek, we only need to seek the barriers to knowing Love. It takes intention, attention and coming back, over and over again to the same lessons until we have learned them. But when we do finally let go, forgive and remember that who we truly are, we are home.

May you truly find the Love, not the one that is “out there”, but the one in you, that IS you, and that is of God. Namaste.
