Somedays I wonder what is the hurry? What is the need to go from hosting one event to the next, teaching one class to another? Why not just let life go with the flow, let the classes and retreats happen when they happen and be at peace with that? After all, what has to happen will happen, right?
This is what I tell myself when I am making some excuse or another to procrastinate what I know I need to do. I can't pretend that I don't know the energetic consequences of procrastination. I know that when I procrastinate the task at hand I procrastinate my highest good along with it. Therefore, it is a choice I try not to make too often. As the proverb 29:18 goes, "Where there is no vision, the people perish." While that is true, I like to add that without action, no matter how noble, the vision shall also perish.
Let me share something you might not know about me. There was a time, almost 20 years ago when someone saw where I was in my life and took a stand for my transformation. They...
Driving out of a parking lot after an event one morning, I saw a car with a vanity license plate that read "YOU FAIL"! Wow, really? My day had started around 5 that morning. The event I attended was great. I met a group of positive, productive people at an educational seminar. I remember I was in a pretty good mood as I backed my car out and saw the words - YOU FAIL! Nice.
After shaking my head in disbelief, the first thing I did was pick up my phone and take a picture of this one-of-a-kind license plate that I hoped I'd never see again. I still could not believe that someone would go out of their way and spend all that time to order custom license plates to then say something like that. Yes, people have the right to say whatever they want anywhere...even on their license plate, within reason and in 7 characters or less, but it costs nothing to be nice....

For years I complained about the "overwhelm" in my life. "I am so overwhelmed", "there are only so many hours in the day", "there's only so much one can possibly do", etc are some of the phrases I have oftentimes used. While there is nothing intrinsically "wrong" with these phrases themselves, it is how they leave one "feeling". In my case it made me feel disempowered, helpless and experience a loss of power and control over my own life.
Energy always gets directed to where you choose to place your attention. Even with overwhelm, when you focus on it, it just gets even more intense. When I've said that I was overwhelmed, instead of being able to focus on the tasks at hand, I would get stuck mulling over the workload. Total paralysis. No movement whatsoever. In this state, the overwhelm just compounded and built up even more.
Over time and building on the practice of meditation and the "pause",...
How many times have you told a little white lie thinking it was no big deal? After all, no one got hurt, right? But we all know that one lie leads to even more lies, and eventually you end up in a situation that spirals out of control and becomes completely exhausting.
We tell lies for many reasons, but when we are not speaking truthfully we are not being authentic. We are actually holding back what we really want to say.
Watch as Richa explains what damage not speaking your truth is actually causing in your life. What can you do on a daily basis to live a more truthful and honest life?

Living a life of simplicity sounds simple but it's far from it, I realize that. I hung a sign in my kitchen that reads, "Simplify Your Life". Although I see this sign several times a day, multiplied by for at least 5 years, I am still on the journey of simplifying my life a little bit at a time, one step at a time.
For me simplifying has required releasing the need to say yes to every demand placed on me, reducing the number of things I choose to put on my plate, letting go of stuff I don't need anymore, whether in my closet, my business or even my health. I have to consciously choose every day to pause, breathe and live life in a way that flows with ease and abundance.
I have found that every time I bring my thoughts to gratitude, everything changes. My breath slows down and gets deeper. My thoughts shift to what I have versus what I don't have. My fears and self-limiting ways of thinking clear the way for courage and limitlessness. Simply, everything shifts.
By virtue of allowing gratitude for life and existence you open yourself up to accessing the source of all creation. When you are in gratitude you are saying thank you for everything. Every Thing. Unconditionally. Without Judgment. Without Opinions. Without Criticism. You embrace all things without separation in the state of grace that is gratitude.
Sometimes negative experiences from the past leave one upset, angry or resentful. How can one be grateful for events that have caused trauma and pain in the past? How can one justify being grateful for pain?
When we look through the lenses of right and...
Lately, I've been present, very present to the likeness of my journey to that of a river. I rise and I fall, but I flow. I bump into rocks and dams, but I thrust forward, over and above the boulders, as though shattering their resolve to stop me. My boldness just tough enough to overcome the opponent.
Like a river, I change course if I have to, I split into two or more, but I keep flowing. I let go, wishing those parts of me farewell, no longer on my journey, and I tarry on, I keep fllowing.
Like a river, I find myself sometimes gushing uninhibited, but also sometimes calm, almost still, with infinitesimal movement. The world, the weather, the air - they all affect me.
Who is this that chooses to flow along with me for a while? Who are the co-travelers with whom I have a journey to share? I take all that I am and all that I have to support and guide them to their destination.
Like a river, I also feel held, very held by the banks on either side of me. They help me stay my...
