Richa: The Transformation Catalyst

I've been called the Transformation Catalyst by my clients because they say the work we have done together has helped them get closer to living a fulfilling life faster than anything else they have tried.

I have 3 steps to establishing a lasting transformation in my client's lives. First we begin with assessment, move on to Identification, and finish up with Implementation. When all three steps are done correctly and effectively, you experience a fulfilling and lasting transformation in your life and business that can be life-changing.

Here I share my simple approach.

Recognizing Opportunities for Meditation

Have you ever been advised to "meditate"? Perhaps by a friend, a colleague or even your doctor? Several well-known leaders in the personal transformation field including Oprah, Deepak Chopra, and Wayne Dyer advocate that we get present, breathe, and meditate. We may hear this advice and believe that meditation is useful, but for some of us there is a preconceived notion of what it means to meditate. And for others of us it is a matter of feeling like there just aren't enough hours in the day.

During my years of studying the different forms of meditation and ancient techniques from gurus and teachers in India I learned that there are many levels of meditation and a variety of techniques. While "sitting" is surely one of them, we practiced walking, movement, dancing, singing and even cooking as meditation. The goal was to infuse a meditative quality into our everyday lives. Simply stated, getting present and being mindful.

Instead of measuring "quiet time" by how many...

I Choose My Transformation, Now

Somedays I wonder what is the hurry? What is the need to go from hosting one event to the next, teaching one class to another? Why not just let life go with the flow, let the classes and retreats happen when they happen and be at peace with that? After all, what has to happen will happen, right?

This is what I tell myself when I am making some excuse or another to procrastinate what I know I need to do. I can't pretend that I don't know the energetic consequences of procrastination. I know that when I procrastinate the task at hand I procrastinate my highest good along with it. Therefore, it is a choice I try not to make too often. As the proverb 29:18 goes, "Where there is no vision, the people perish." While that is true, I like to add that without action, no matter how noble, the vision shall also perish.

Let me share something you might not know about me. There was a time, almost 20 years ago when someone saw where I was in my life and took a stand for my transformation. They...

Gray Cloud Or Silver Lining?

"The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty". - Winston Churchill

Driving out of a parking lot after an event one morning, I saw a car with a vanity license plate that read "YOU FAIL"! Wow, really? My day had started around 5 that morning. The event I attended was great. I met a group of positive, productive people at an educational seminar. I remember I was in a pretty good mood as I backed my car out and saw the words - YOU FAIL! Nice.

After shaking my head in disbelief, the first thing I did was pick up my phone and take a picture of this one-of-a-kind license plate that I hoped I'd never see again. I still could not believe that someone would go out of their way and spend all that time to order custom license plates to then say something like that. Yes, people have the right to say whatever they want anywhere...even on their license plate, within reason and in 7 characters or less, but it costs nothing to be nice....

Whelm, I'm So Over You!

"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you've imagined" - Thoreau

For years I complained about the "overwhelm" in my life. "I am so overwhelmed", "there are only so many hours in the day", "there's only so much one can possibly do", etc are some of the phrases I have oftentimes used. While there is nothing intrinsically "wrong" with these phrases themselves, it is how they leave one "feeling". In my case it made me feel disempowered, helpless and experience a loss of power and control over my own life.

Energy always gets directed to where you choose to place your attention. Even with overwhelm, when you focus on it, it just gets even more intense. When I've said that I was overwhelmed, instead of being able to focus on the tasks at hand, I would get stuck mulling over the workload. Total paralysis. No movement whatsoever. In this state, the overwhelm just compounded and built up even more.

Over time and building on the practice of meditation and the "pause",...

Simply Living Simply

Living a life of simplicity sounds simple but it's far from it, I realize that. I hung a sign in my kitchen that reads, "Simplify Your Life". Although I see this sign several times a day, multiplied by for at least 5 years, I am still on the journey of simplifying my life a little bit at a time, one step at a time.

For me simplifying has required releasing the need to say yes to every demand placed on me, reducing the number of things I choose to put on my plate, letting go of stuff I don't need anymore, whether in my closet, my business or even my health. I have to consciously choose every day to pause, breathe and live life in a way that flows with ease and abundance.

Gratitude For All Things

Wear gratitude like a cloak and it will feed every corner of your life. ~Rumi

I have found that every time I bring my thoughts to gratitude, everything changes. My breath slows down and gets deeper. My thoughts shift to what I have versus what I don't have. My fears and self-limiting ways of thinking clear the way for courage and limitlessness. Simply, everything shifts.

By virtue of allowing gratitude for life and existence you open yourself up to accessing the source of all creation. When you are in gratitude you are saying thank you for everything. Every Thing. Unconditionally. Without Judgment. Without Opinions. Without Criticism. You embrace all things without separation in the state of grace that is gratitude.

Sometimes negative experiences from the past leave one upset, angry or resentful. How can one be grateful for events that have caused trauma and pain in the past? How can one justify being grateful for pain?

When we look through the lenses of right and...
